Stephen Nehrenz

Most meteorologists you meet will tell you that they have been fascinated with weather since a young age. Stephen is no exception! Born and raised in Norman in the heart of tornado alley, Stephen has experienced just about the entire gamut of weather extremes that Oklahoma throws at us!

All he can ever remember from a very young age is wanting to become a weatherman, and after experiencing the May 3rd, 1999 Oklahoma tornado outbreak first-hand as a kid, he became fully convinced that he wanted to better understand the weather and help keep others informed.

A graduate of Norman High School, Nehrenz took a short trip across Norman to the campus of the University of Oklahoma to study meteorology. He graduated from OU in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology as well as a minor in Broadcast Meteorology from the journalism school.

After graduating from OU, Stephen headed down to Denison, TX to begin his meteorology career at KTEN where he spent almost four years as their Morning Meteorologist. During that time, he once again experienced the full range of crazy Southern Plains weather, covering anything from severe weather outbreaks and multiple crippling winters storms to the multi-year Oklahoma/Texas drought and the historic floods that brought the drought to an end!

Stephen is extremely excited to return to Oklahoma where he can cover wild weather in one of the best weather markets in the country! He is a true Okie who loves Tulsa and the beautiful Green Country area, and hopes he can be another integral member of the News on 6 WARN team that you can rely on! Outside of work, Stephen also enjoys golfing, basketball, and exploring new areas. He is also a big sports fanatic and loves talking sports almost as much as talking weather!
