The Cherokee Nation says it has found stable employment for more than 260 displaced workers thanks to a grant from the Department of Labor.

According to the tribe, the workers were displaced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Cherokee Nation says the Department of Labor awarded the tribe over $5.5 million to help during the pandemic.

The Tribe established two PPE manufacturing facilities and a meat processing plant to help fill the needs of tribal families and to create jobs.

So far, the tribe says it has used $4.3 million in funding for job opportunities.
