This summer, more and more people plan to get out of the house and travel, with 73% of consumers expecting to make two trips.
Surging prices are not curbing summer getaway plans.
Domestic airfare is costing flyers 34% more than in 2019.
Airbnb prices are up over 11% this year, while the average hotel room costs $40 more per night than last summer.
Rental cars have also soared to a stunning 70% during the pandemic.
All experts say to save money here, be flexible.
As for gas prices, sales of gas-guzzling RVs have jumped 14% this year.
The average price at the pump is currently $4.72 in Oklahoma and nationally is $5.
But experts have a better idea of ways to save money with the following tips.
Shop around at gas stations, look for discounts offered by gas stations or grocery stores, make sure your car is working well and be easy on the accelerator.
As for what Oklahoma leaders are doing to help, there is now a bill with the Senate to eliminate grocery sales tax.
Gov. Kevin Stitt said it's up to President Biden to figure out the travel prices.
"It's causing inflation that is hurting everyday Oklahoman's, and it's because of these policies. They need to unlock American ingenuity and innovation and companies that we have in Oklahoma," said Gov. Stitt.
At this time, it's not the worst yet for gas prices.
In 2008, the US hit $5.40 a gallon when adjusted for inflation.
