1 Person Rushed To Hospital After Explosion In Custer County

One person was taken to a hospital following an explosion Thursday afternoon in Custer County.

Custer County Emergency Management confirmed that a victim is being lifeflighted to a hospital due to burns sustained in the explosion.

Weatherford Fire Chief Mike Karlin told News 9 that the incident began as a tank battery explosion just before 2 p.m. Thursday. The explosion sparked a grass fire.

Karlin said the grass fire is contained at this time.
