On Christmas Eve, Red Andrews is serving the community and making sure everyone has a Merry Christmas.
Anyone who needs a meal or a toy this year can just show up at Crossroads Church Friday morning starting at 9 a.m.
This year, the event is going to be a drive-thru, but that is not going to stop them from having quite the celebration.
They are giving out groceries for a Christmas dinner, and even though it is going to be a warm Christmas this year, they are giving out coats for when that cold weather does roll around. Plus, they are giving out toys for the kids.
The event will also feature appearances from some special guests, Santa and Captain America will be [resent to help spread some Christmas joy.
Mary Blankenship Pointer the Secretary-Treasurer for the Red Andrews Dinner Foundation says that this year, they hope to serve around 8,000 people. It is something they know the community needs.
"We don't realize the needs that we have in the community until we look around and this provides a wonderful Christmas dinner for everyone"
Inside that Christmas dinner package will be turkey, potatoes, green beans, gravy, cornbread mix and pie.
It is first come first serve and they will begin serving at 9 a.m. Friday morning and will stop serving around 1 p.m.
The event will take place at Crossroad’s Church located at 8901 South Shields, Oklahoma City, OK.
