The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has confirmed that a child and two adults died in a head-on crash in McClain County Thursday night.
The crash happened just after 6 p.m. Thursday on Highway 39 just west of Purcell.
OHP said 34-year-old Patricia McLoed, who showed signs of intoxication, was driving a pickup truck westbound and attempted to pass two vehicles in a no passing zone. She hit an SUV carrying four people head on.
Police say the driver of the SUV, 39-year-old Kimberly Hartline was pronounced dead at the scene, along with her passengers, 18-year-old Madysun Faber and a 15-year-old boy.
The SUV then rotated back onto the highway and hit the fender of another vehicle.
McLoed was taken to OU Medical Center in serious condition with head, arm and trunk injuries.
A third passenger in the SUV, at 2-year-old girl, was taken to Oklahoma Children’s Hospital.
The driver of the third vehicle was not injured in the crash.
OHP is investigating the accident.
