A strip mall across the street from Del City High School experienced significant storm damage following Thursday night’s storms. The strip mall’s roof was completely torn off.

“My equipment will have to be replaced,” business owner Cheryl Jackson. “With the help of God and insurance, I think you can about overcome anything.”

While Jackson maintains a positive mindset for her businesses, others are feeling a burden.

Integris Hospital in Del City was left with broken glass and flooding.

When the sun came up, residents in several Del City neighborhoods could see the damage to their own homes.

“Power went out and water started to come through my window,” Del City resident Walter Newman said.

It was a scary early morning for Newman, but while he is left with the cleanup, he is thankful no one was hurt including his daughters.

“As long as my daughters are safe, that’s all that matters,” Newman said.

This round of weather is gone, but for those in the area, firefighters are asking for everyone to remain aware of their surroundings as they continue to see trees and other debris falling.
