The Center for Indigenous Health Research and Policy at the Oklahoma State University Center of Health Science has been awarded $5.5 million for research.
$3.5 million will go toward partnering with the Osage Nation and National Congress of American Indians. They will implement and study new food programs in the Osage nation and document findings.
If the programs are successful, they will create an online toolkit for other nations to improve their own food systems.
$2 million will go toward partnerships to develop a 'Center for Indigenous Innovation and Health Equity.'
This includes partnerships with the Osage and Choctaw Nations and Native entities in Alaska.
