The Edmond Police Department said a standoff suspect accused of breaking into the home of his ex-girlfriend, assaulting and pistol-whipping her, is now in custody after turning himself in to authorities Wednesday.

According to the police report, Tywan Goosby, 35, allegedly assaulted the victim just after 4 a.m. Monday near West 15th Street and North Santa Fe Avenue.

The victim was able to escape the home and seek help from a stranger.

When officers arrived, they believed Goosby was still inside of the victim’s home and a standoff situation ensued.
