The state Board of Education is scheduled to discuss possible action against Western Heights School District on Thursday.

According to the agenda, the board will discuss possible action to issue an emergency order summarily suspending the educator certificate and certificate number of Mannix Barnes, the district's superintendent.

The board will also discuss the performance review and accreditation status of Western Heights School District and discuss possible action to request a special investigative audit of Western Heights School District for fiscal years 2019 to 2020.

The board put the school district on a 90-day probation in April. The district said it would sue the state Department of Education after the probation.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.

The meeting will be streamed live on the Oklahoma State Department of Education’s Facebook page.
