One person is dead, and two people were injured in a shooting in Del City, police said.
The drive by shooting happened in 800 block of Briar Lane near Bryant Avenue and Tinker Diagonal around 2:45 p.m. Friday.
Police said a dark colored SUV drove by a home, shooting at it, then fled the scene.
A man in his 20’s is identified by police as the victim.
Two people were taken to OU Medical Center for treatment. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
“We’re canvassing the neighborhood, speaking to anyone that was outside, trying to obtain any video of any houses, anything we can do,” said Major Bradley Rule of Del City police.
Neighbors recalled hearing rapid gunfire; police described as semiautomatic.
Neighbor Emanual Jackson sat in disbelief, telling News 9 this isn’t the first shooting at his neighbor’s home.
“I just seen them when they come out this morning. One of the twins, the other sister, they sat on the truck just piddling around,” said Jackson. “I felt something, whew, they need to get off that truck.”
Jackson identified the shooting victim as a young man named “Gigi,” who lost his father several years ago.
“He’s a good kid, I watched them grow up,” said Jackson. “Some of (their) friends are the wrong kids to mess around with.”
With little suspect information, investigators are working around the clock to get an accused killer behind bars.
If you’re a witness or have any information that may help Del City police, you’re asked to give them a call.
