Meet Sara Roberts, a 4th grader working through the difficulties this school year brought.
"It's been hard. When we were in 3rd grade; school seemed easy. Then you start online school, and then you go, 'Wow, there is a lot of stuff to do.' You got to write it all down, check it all," said Sara, a 4th grade student in Stillwater.
There were a lot of adjustments and even more unknowns.
Instead of taking the spare time for granted, Sara and her grandfather, Kevin, got to work with their rock tumbler.
"We just found a fun idea to do," Sara said.
They said power to the pebble, and just like that, SK Rock Creations was born.
"We pick out our rocks, and then we put them through the four steps," Sara said.
As Sara learned, when your rocks go this hard, the diamonds start rolling in.
"We sold just almost $5,000," Sara said.
Big bucks for a 4th grader, and it is not going toward a new bike or outfit. Instead, the proceeds are going toward a greater good. Every dollar is going to the Stillwater and Greater Oklahoma City YMCA.
"It's not just money," Sara said. "You don't just buy toys with it. It helps people. It helps people swim. It helps people buy food."
For Sara, everyone should be able to swim without any worries.
"It makes me feel really happy because another kid gets to go swimming," Sara said.
Sara is not stopping at the $5,000 she and grandfather raised.
Now, they're targeting $10,000.
Their next pop-up shop is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Prairie Arts in Stillwater.
