Woman Identified In NE OKC Fatal Shooting

Oklahoma City police identified a woman who died in a Tuesday afternoon shooting.

Authorities said an off-duty police officer was on the way to work when he discovered a man shot inside of vehicle near the intersection of Northeast 36th Street and Kelley Avenue.

The man is expected to survive.

Police said a woman was then found shot inside of another vehicle near Northeast 35th Street and Lindsey Avenue.

The woman, identified as 57-year-old Joyce Smith, was transported to OU Medical Center where she later died.

Investigators believe the two shootings stem from the same event. No arrests have been made at this time.
