Veteran Salute: Oren Lee Peters

We are honoring the men and women who served our country.

On April 19, we want to salute Army veteran Oren Lee Peters.

Oren just celebrated his 100th birthday on Friday.

He served in World War II, the Korean War and spent time in the Oklahoma National Guard.

Last weekend, Peters received the Oklahoma Thunderbird Medal.

That's the Guard’s highest award presented to a civilian.

He is also in the Edmond, Oklahoma Hall of Fame.
