Getting your vaccine card may seem like the feat of the century, but posting it on social may not be in your best interest.
Kitt Letcher with the Better Business Bureau said scammers are stealing people's personal information off of their vaccine card selfie and then replicating those cards and making thousands of dollars.
"When they are showing their entire card, it has a lot of information on it," Letcher said.
That's why Letcher recommends you avoid posting your vaccine card anywhere and definitely not on social media.
"It really is easy to replicate that on a large scale and then those cards are then sold online for a variety of different prices,” Letcher said.
The BBB has reported several international companies doing just that.
If you are one of those that can't help yourself from sharing with followers that you got your vaccine,
"Make sure you are covering up a lot of that personal information,” Letcher said.
Do not post any personal information like full names, phone numbers, addresses, and/or vaccine numbers.
Letcher said many social media companies have create templets and filters that cover all that personal information up and Letcher recommends taking advantage of them!
