A man suspected of being intoxicated was caught on camera leading Oklahoma City police on a pursuit.
Only moments before the chase, police said Jacob Jaramillo, 26, was asleep at the wheel.
On Friday, police released the body camera footage of the chase and Jaramillo’s arrest.
A driver in the area called 911 last month after noticing Jaramillo passed out at the wheel near Southeast 44th and Shields Boulevard.
When officers found his vehicle, it was stopped southeast of the intersection. They said Jaramillo was very disoriented and his truck was still running.
Officer 1: “Hey, is it park or drive?”
Officer 2: “What?”
Officer 1: “It’s in drive?”
The officers set up stop sticks in front of Jaramillo's truck in case he drove away.
Officer: “That way he goes forward, he’s gonna run over them.”
They tried several times to wake the man up and instructed him to put the truck in park.
Instead, the driver woke up and sped away, just as officers thought he would and drove over the stop sticks.
Officers chased Jaramillo, who was driving on the wrong side of the road. He led them on a pursuit through a southeast Oklahoma City neighborhood and after several minutes came to a stop after losing a tire.
Officer: “He’s stopping at a light at South Grand Boulevard.”
Police said Jaramillo stumbled out of this pickup but was able to follow their commands.
Officer: “Go down to your knees. Alright, put your hands behind your back.”
Officers noted the driver smelled like alcohol and said they later found a loaded handgun in his truck.
Jaramillo was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on complaints of DUI, carrying a firearm while under the influence and eluding police.
At this time, Jaramillo has not been charged by the Oklahoma County district attorney's office.
