Current road conditions and more winter weather on the way are causing some delays for COVID-19 vaccines.

The Oklahoma City-County Health Department says it's keeping an eye on road conditions ahead of Thursday's vaccine clinic at Mercy hospital.

If there are any delays or cancelations, patients with an appointment can expect a phone call from OCCHD or the hospital holding the clinic. The department says if a patient cancels the appointment themselves there is no guarantee of getting a new one.

In McClain County, the health department is postponing Thursday vaccine appointments at the Mid-America Technology Center in Wayne.

The department says with changing road conditions, they're concerned about clients' safety getting to and from the clinic.

Canceled appointments were automatically rescheduled for Thursday, February 25th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. that afternoon.

Patients will not have to re-book on the state portal.

This week's appointments are not yet available on the state's portal. OSDH says it will open time slots on Friday due to uncertainty in the forecast.
