Positive Tomorrows and the Department of Human Services have formed a new partnership to help families.
A representative of DHS is embedded at the school's building and as well as a member of Positive Tomorrow's family support team. This gives the school already helping families struggling with homelessness a one-stop shop to get resources.
"When they are already here signing their kid up for school or working with a case manager, they don't need to leave the building to get another service set up," said Positive Tomorrows Director of Family Support Kelly Berger
We try to meet families before a crisis starts so this partnership has helped us meet families where they are at,” said AFS Deputy Director of Oklahoma Jerome White
Staff at the school say this is a great direction for social services...and they're happy to help families in any way possible.
