Salted Caramel Pear Galette

  1. 1 refrigerated pie crust
  2. 3 pears, peeled & cored
  3. 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  4. 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  5. 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour 
  6. 1/4 cup pecans, chopped
  7. 1 egg, beaten

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the pie crust in the center of the baking sheet and allow it to come to room temperature.
  3. Slice the pears into very thin slices and put In a medium sized bowl.
  4. Drizzle the pears with caramel sauce and stir in the flour so that the pears are coated in caramel sauce.
  5. Sprinkle with sea salt. 

To assemble the galette:

  1. Set the pear mixture into the center of the pie crust.
  2. Fold the sides up around the pear mixture.
  3. You will not be able to cover the pears completely and the center will be open.
  4. Sprinkle with pecans and brush the crust with the beaten egg.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes or until the pears are bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
  6. Serve with ice cream or chilled cream.
