Witnesses to a deadly hit-and-run crash on Sunday captured the disturbing crime on their phones.
A woman was killed in a southwest Oklahoma City business parking lot after being run over.
The driver accused of killing Alivia Gutierrez, 24, at a weekend party was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on complaints of manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident.
News 9 obtained cellphone video that was taken outside a salon near SW 59th and Western. Police said dozens of partygoers spilled out of the building into the parking lot when a fight broke out.
Miguel Fuentes, 24, could be seen attempting to drive through the crowd. Just before Fuentes took off, the victim walked over to his car and kicked the driver's side.
“While the fight was still going on in the parking lot, a female victim who has been identified as 24-year-old Alivia Gutierrez was struck and run over by a vehicle,” said Sgt. Megan Morgan, Oklahoma City Police Department.
The video of the accident is too graphic to show but several witnesses captured a vehicle running over the woman several times.
Police said Gutierrez died in the parking lot and the suspect drove away before officers showed up.
Homicide investigators were called to the scene and spent several hours going over evidence from the fatal hit-and-run. Police were eventually able to track down Fuentes.
“After the actual accident happened, he fled the scene,” said Morgan. “It was yesterday evening before he was apprehended.”
The videos are now evidence of the deadly crime and investigators are asking witnesses they did not speak to at the party to come forward.
“They’re asking that if anybody has a copy of that video, has information about the incident, to please give them a call through the homicide tip line,” said Morgan.
The homicide tip line is 405-297-1200.
