Two people are dead following a police chase that briefly spanned Norman, Moore and Oklahoma City.

No names have been released, but Moore police confirm the suspect and a 69-year-old victim passed away.

It all began Friday morning in Norman.

Tyler McKaig reported his F-150 stolen to police.

Hours later he spotted it on the interstate.

"I was with my parents, and we took off towards Oklahoma City to go see my aunt. I was joking with my father, 'What if we see it on the road?" Sure, enough we come up on a gray F-150 that turned out to be mine," said McKaig.

He said he immediately called 911, and the call was taken by Norman dispatch.

Those investigators contacted Moore police to let them know the suspect was headed northbound on Interstate 35.

Until police caught up, McKaig and his family followed the suspect while talking to dispatch.

"A Moore policewoman was the first one who got there," he said. "She turned her lights on and he immediately floored it up to 100 miles per hour."

Dispatch told McKaig and his family to back off the chase, and they said they did.

But within two minutes of the pursuit, the unnamed male suspect exited the interstate and crashed into multiple other vehicles near Southeast 59th Street and I-35.

Police then took off on foot towards I-35 when another driver hit him.

The scene was covered with dozens of witnesses.

"When he took off running, I was like whoa. I don't even know how to explain it, heck," said Ray Osborn.

McKaig and his family finally caught up to the scene, and saw the stolen pickup crashed out.

"By the time we got to SE 59th we saw the nightmare basically," he said. "He was on foot, and juking, and ran around the back of the truck when police officers were chasing him. That's when he hopped over that highway embankment and unfortunately a black SUV hit him somehow."

The suspect died on the scene, and the 69-year-old victim passed away at the hospital.

The conditions of the other two victims hurt in the crash are unknown.

"We are fine. I really feel terrible for the other families involved, even the suspect. I am sure he has family somewhere," McKaig said.

Moore police said the crash is still under investigation and involved several vehicles.

Tonight, their hearts are also with those involved in the wreck.

"Two people lost their lives today, and we are profoundly sorry about that," said Lt. Kyle Hill of the Moore Police Department. "Any loss of life is tragic, and the Moore Police Department values the sanctity of all human life, whether it is an offender, or a person driving a car."

McKaig said his home video surveillance showed that he was loading up the truck for the holiday weekend to go mountain biking when it was stolen.

He said he was only gone a matter of minutes, and never suspected that all of this would happen.
