Bartlesville Public School leaders say the high school is closed Thursday for a deep clean after several people there tested positive for COVID-19.

The district says this will be a distance-learning day for students at the high school.

That allows custodians to clean essential areas throughout the building and in school-related vehicles, if needed.

They say the positive cases include three staff members and a student.

Another staff member tested positive from Wilson Elementary.

In addition to the five active cases in the district, leaders say 25 people are in quarantine but no other schools in Bartlesville will shut down Thursday.

They say classes will resume normally on Monday.

Bartlesville Public Schools were already scheduled to have a distance learning day as a way of practicing the online process.
