Brooklyn Hampton, 23, was killed after she was shot multiple times outside of an Edmond McDonald’s, police said. Police haven’t made any arrests in the case.
Friends of the victim said that they were shocked when they heard the news.
“If you don’t know someone or know the person that was affected by the violence it is easy to see them as a statistic or a number,” said Brooklyn Bowman, who grew up with Hampton. “If you know Brooklyn, she was a daughter, a granddaughter, a sister, a cousin, a niece, and a friend.”
They described Hampton as someone who could light up a room with her larger than life personality.
“She just had a spirit you couldn’t ignore,” said Alexis, another friends of Hampton’s.
Both are still coming to terms that they won’t be able to see Hampton again.
“I think back of the times I wish I would have stopped by the store and talked to her and things I wish I would have said,” said Bowman.
The family is trying to give Hampton a funeral, if you would like to help them here is a link to the GoFundMe.
