Police said one person died early Monday morning following a crash in Kingfisher County.

According to authorities, at 6:20 a.m. 34-year-old Kevin Cornelius Branch was traveling westbound on State Highway 33 when he failed to complete a curve, crossed the center line and crashed into the drivers side of a semi-truck traveling eastbound.

Branch was taken by helicopter to OU Medical Center where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash, police said.

The semi-truck driver has been identified as 32-year-old Mikel Dane Bateson. Police said Bateson was taken by Kingfisher EMS to Mercy Hospital where he was treated and released.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
