Canadian County Emergency Management is opening up a new mobile testing site at Yukon Middle School Friday morning.
Officials are emphasizing that there is no appointment needed and no charge. It's a free event that doesn't even require insurance, and will even have interpreters.
However they are limited to only 100 test kits, so it's first come first serve.
Canadian County will have strict guidelines on who can be tested in the first place.
People have to be 16 or older. 16 and 17-year-olds also need a parent or guardian’s permission.
They will also have to have a fever of 100.4 or higher, a cough or shortness of breath, or the belief that they have been in contact with another case of COVID-19.
This will all take place in the front parking lot of Yukon Middle School.
There will only be one entrance, and helpers will be posted there to determine if someone qualifies for testing.
“We are going to have everyone accordion style In the main parking lot. Then we will have our screeners do a triage with you and have you follow the criteria,” said Andrew Skidmore, Canadian County Emergency Manager.
Canadian County Emergency Management says people should stay in the car at all times when pulling up. There will be a number of signs that will lead people in the right direction.
The testing site opens at 10 a.m.
