New helmet camera video reveals the moment firefighters entered a raging apartment fire in northwest Oklahoma City.
The video shows the dangerous conditions firefighters often go through hopes of saving lives and property.
“It’s very sad but all of us are like a community here so everyone was kind of holding on to everybody. We'll be okay,” said fire victim Janie Patrick.
While firefighters were eventually beaten back, they didn't leave without a fight.
“We are going to have to evacuate,” screamed firefighters.
Once inside one of the units at the apartment near May and Northwest 122nd Street they were faced with towering flames and electrical explosions.
“Engine three to command, we need utilities turned off in here. We are getting lit up with electricity here,” said firefighters.
Firefighters tackled the fire from the ground and a massive ladder.
Each time tearing down walls and ceilings only to uncover more flames.
And while flames caused the roof to collapse resulting in heavy damage to 12 units -- thanks to their efforts no one was hurt.
The Red Cross did step in. The cause of the fire was undetermined.
