OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ School districts throughout Oklahoma will get big breaks on their February natural gas bills, the Corporation Commission decided Thursday.

The one-time discounts will range from 35 to 40 percent.

Oklahoma Natural Gas Co. proposed the one-month discounts, which will add up to $1.5 million.

The $1.5 million comes from a property tax settlement involving Kansas Gas Service customers during the 1980s. Oneok, the parent company of Oklahoma Natural Gas, acquired KGS in 1997.

The proposal received preliminary approval Wednesday.
