An emergency preparedness store opened just in time for Oklahomans to get ready for the storm season.
Homestand Preparation Station, located at N.W. 63rd St. and May Ave., features the latest products and technologies that supply power, water, food, light and shelter to families during emergencies.
"Oklahoma is prone to harsh weather, such as ice storms, tornados and even earthquakes, and Homestand's mission is to help Oklahomans prepare their homes and family," said Scott Harper, general manager of Homestand. "Our products are like insurance – good to have if disaster strikes."

Homestand Preparation Station carries common emergency items, such as flashlights, weather radios and camping gear. They also sell water filters, hand-crank and solar-powered chargers, medical kits, multi-tasking emergency tools, Bear Grylls outdoor adventure products and Legacy Premium freeze-dried foods.
This 2,384-square-foot retail store also includes a classroom where Staff will offer workshops to educate the public on emergency preparedness.
"Our staff will help you stock your tornado shelter quickly and efficiently, tailoring an emergency kit with supplies to best meet the needs of your entire family, even pets," Harper said.
