A half-billion Oklahoma quarter's will be minted and put into circulation. Several thousand were put into circulation Monday.

The Governor and First Lady handed out the precious new coins to Buchanan Elementary School students Monday morning.

During a ceremony, officials with the U.S. Mint presented the Governor with the artwork that was used for the quarter. The Governor said the Scissortail Flycatcher in flight truly is symbolic of Oklahoma.

"Because this state is in flight, we are soaring high and we are moving in an upward direction," Henry said.

After the ceremony, hundreds, maybe a few thousand people, from all over the state waited in line to get some Oklahoma quarters of their own.

In total, the ceremony had 200,000 quarters or $50,000 worth.

If you'd like to get some uncirculated quarters, go to any BancFirst location.
