Operation Boot Camp - Day 12
I found out first-hand what happens when bootcampers fail to follow the program. Because I was a little lazy yesterday, my team leader Mark assigned me to the "after party" when we were finished with the workout. It sounds like a good time, doesn't it? "After party! Everyone's invited!" Well, it's not fun! It's the Operation Bootcamp version of detention. Although it's only two minutes of drills, I was disappointed in myself for failing to fill out my logbook and for not working out yesterday. It's a little embarrassing, honestly. I wasn't the only one at the after party. Another camper, Kendra, stayed because she ate some candy. My bootcamp carpool buddy Laura (we're getting fit AND saving the planet) did after party because she felt sorry for us!
As for the workout, we played "follow the leader." Our leader, Tracie, took us all over that park - and it's a big park. From lunge-walking along a pond to stepping up and down picnic tables, we covered the entire park. Even the kids' playground became part of the workout.
I got extremely winded at one point and had to walk while my group ran to the next station. That bothers me. I hate being so out of shape.
On a terrific note, in just two weeks' time, my stamina has increased, and I'm seeing changes to my body already, especially in my abs and legs. It's nice to see some shape again.
If you aren't afraid of hard work, enjoy a challege and want to see quick results, Operation Bootcamp might be the workout for you. If you want to find out more about the program, to go operationbootcamp.com or you can email me at paula.morrison@news9.net.
