Oklahoma City police arrested 34-year-old Doyle Wayne Briggs Tuesday on two first-degree murder complaints in connection to a shooting that took place Monday, police said.

According to police, they took Briggs into custody at a residence in the 2100 block of Hardin Drive.

Officers found the bodies of 37-year-old Corey Brown and 34-year-old Shannon Brown in the road at about 12:30 a.m. Monday on N.E. 5th Street near Lindsay Avenue.

Witnesses said they heard several gunshots fired and several guns were left at the scene. A vehicle was seen leaving the scene when police arrived. Officers lost that car after a short chase, Capt. Lisa Camacho said.

"The vehicle was found abandoned over about 17th & Lottie area with nobody inside of it," Camacho said.

Police ask for anyone with information on the shootings to call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300.
