Griffin Communications Honored for Leadership

OKLAHOMA CITY -- NEWS 9 is proud to report a prestigious honor for our parent company over the weekend. Griffin Communications has been recognized by Leadership Oklahoma as one of this year's Excellence In Leadership honorees.

The award was presented to our owner, David Griffin. It recognizes the Griffin family's local roots and statewide leadership as one of the few locally-owned media companies in the country.

Griffin Communications has grown over the years from a traditional television station in Oklahoma City to a multi-media company with platforms on television, cable, radio and the internet. The company's mission is focused on growing and dominating news, weather and sports content all across the state of Oklahoma.

The Griffin family is celebrating its 100th year of conducting business in Oklahoma.

Also honored with leadership awards at this year's ceremony are Chet Cadieux, President of QuikTrip Corporation, Governor Bill Anoutubby of the Chickasaw Nation and philanthropist Henry Zarrow.
