OKLAHOMA CITY -- Whole Foods Market has confirmed they will be opening a location in Oklahoma City in the near future.
Whole Foods spokeswoman Libba Lutton said Wednesday afternoon that the chain has signed a lease in Oklahoma City. She declined to say who the lease was signed with, but said more details will be released on May 12, 2010, after the company's quarterly earnings meeting.
Sources at Chesapeake Energy said the store will likely be located in or near Classen Curve.
Whole Food's also confirmed the new location on their official Twitter page stating, "Yes, a lease has been signed in OKC, but there has not yet been an official opening date yet opened."
NEWS 9 first reported a store would be opening in Oklahoma City last August.
Whole Foods already has a location in Tulsa.
