Ingredients:
Cake:
1 cup butter
1 cup water
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
3/4 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
Icing:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
4 1/2 confectioner's sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 cup chopped walnuts
Directions:
In a large saucepan, bring 1 cup butter and water to a boil. Remove from heat and mix in flour, sugar, eggs, coconut, sour cream, almond extract, salt, and baking soda until smooth. Pour into greased baking pan.
Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 22 minutes or until cake is golden brown.
For the icing, bring 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup milk to a boil. Remove from heat. Mix in confectioner's sugar and 1/2 teaspoon almond extract until smooth. Stir in walnuts and spread frosting over cake.
