CEMENT, Oklahoma – Lack of rain, extreme drought and a high fire risk have pushed the town of Cement in southwest Oklahoma to enact strict water restrictions.
Cement leaders passed the water restrictions Thursday. They will be in place until further notice.
The restrictions are as follows:
Even numbered homes will be allowed to water their lawns on even numbered calendar days.
Odd numbered homes will be allowed to water their lawns on odd numbered calendar days. Watering will only be allowed from 7 a.m. – 11 a.m. and from 7p.m. - 11p.m.
Residents who don't abide by the restrictions could face harsh punishment. They could be fined, and the city could turn off their water.
