OKLAHOMA CITY -- The grand opening of The Outlet Shoppes at Oklahoma City is just around the corner.
Construction is still going on right now at I-40 and Council Road, but the outlet mall is set to be open for business on August 5. The grand opening coincides with the state's tax free weekend, which is August 5 through the August 7. That means clothing and shoes priced at less than $100 will be tax free.
Last year, shoppers saved more than $6.8 million during the sales tax holiday.
There are 87 stores including DKNY, Gap, Under Armor and Carter in The Outlet Shoppes. Right now, all the stores are on track to open by August 5. Retailers will run promotions, and many are planning giveaways for the first 100 customers.
The mall is working hard trying to attract customers from Texas, Kansas and Arkansas for the grand opening weekend.
