OKLAHOMA CITY – A moment of remembrance will be hosted at Will Rogers World Airport at 7:47 a.m. this Sunday, to honor of those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks.
According to the Transportation Security Administration at the airport, they will halt progress through the checkpoints at 7:45 a.m. to ensure that passengers in the process of being screened will have a chance to clear the checkpoint area.
At 7:46 a.m., Kevin Donovan, Federal Security Director for Oklahoma City, Enid and Lawton, will make a terminal-wide announcement that will honor those who were lost on that day. Donovan will then ask that everyone respectively stop all activity and observe a moment of silence.
According to the TSA, upon completion of the remembrance, screening at the checkpoints will immediately resume, as will all airport activity.
Authorities say travelers are advised that most work in the terminal will be suspended for two to five minutes during this time.
