OKLAHOMA CITY -- Two motorcyclists were injured in a collision with a truck in northwest Oklahoma City Sunday afternoon, police said.

Officers said the collision happened on N. Council Road near 76th St. about 3 p.m.  Two motorcyclists were northbound on Council Road when a truck which was southbound swerved across the centerline and struck the curb in front of them.  Both cyclists said they braked but were not able to stop before striking the truck.  Officers found both bikes under the truck when they arrived.

Police reported that the truck driver said he was trying to retrieve a phone when he lost control and crossed two lanes of traffic.  He was cited for failure to devote full time and attention to driving.

Neither of the cyclists was wearing a helmet police said and both were transported to local hospitals.
