EDMOND, Oklahoma -- Edmond residents head to the polls Tuesday to vote on a $25 million Multipurpose Public Safety Center.
The new facility would house Edmond's police station, jail and 911 call center. Edmond Police Chief Bob A. Ricks says the current facilities are old, out of date and too small. Ricks says the new center will help keep the city's crime rate low.
If residents pass the initiative, the city would levy a half-cent sales tax increase for the next five years.
