Oklahoma State's Smith Named Coach Of The Year

STILLWATER, Oklahoma –Oklahoma State cross country coach Dave Smith has been named the Big 12 Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year.

This is the fourth-straight year Smith has received such honor and it comes after he coached the Cowboys to its fourth straight Big 12 Championship.

This year the Cowboys won the team title in every meet they competed in and they also won two individual titles in four of those meets.

In his six years as head coach at OSU, Coach Smith has led the Cowboys to four Big 12 Championships, four individual conference champions and 30 All-Big 12 performers.

Smith looks to add to his resume in Stillwater as the Cowboys will compete at the Midwest Regional on Nov. 12, and then vie for their third-straight national title at the NCAA Championships on Nov. 21 in Terre Haute, Ind.
