The U.S. Supreme Court will consider next week hearing a petition from the wife of a former Oklahoma prison warden convicted of helping a murderer escape. She says she has no money to pursue an appeal.

Parker was convicted on September 21, 2011, of helping Randolph Dial escape from the Oklahoma State Reformatory in Granite in 1994. Parker's husband was the prison warden at the time.

Parker and Dial were found 11 years later, living together on a chicken ranch in Texas. Parker maintains she was kidnapped and held hostage for more than a decade. Before his death in 2007, Dial told police he kidnapped Parker.

But prosecutors contend Parker and Dial actually fell in love, and the former warden's wife helped the convicted murderer escape, and then ran away with him.

Parker says she was wrongly convicted. She's trying to appeal her conviction, but says she's unable to because she cannot afford to pay for a copy of the trial transcript.

The transcript, because of its length, costs about $100,000. Parker tried to be declared indigent by the court so the state would provide a transcript for free, but the state turned her down. Parker says she's being denied her constitutional right to an appeal.

Parker is now hoping the U.S. Supreme Court will intervene. Garvin Isaac, Parker's attorney, confirmed to News 9 that his office filed a writ with the high court to declare Parker a "pauper," or someone without the financial means to pursue the cost of an appeal. The court will consider that motion on September 24. If the court accepts the writ, the justices will then hear her case.

Parker is still married to her husband. They have two daughters.
