An Oklahoma City woman was arrested on DUI charges early Saturday morning after being involved in a hit-and-run crash that critically injured a pedestrian.

Police say the pedestrian was hit by a car in the area of N.W. 20th Street and Council Road in Oklahoma City, and was sent to the hospital in critical condition. However, the vehicle involved in the crash left the scene.

Officers later stopped a vehicle at N.W. 10th Street and Oakdale that matched the description of the car involved in the hit-and-run crash. The driver, 29-year-old Emily Ehrhardt, had extremely blood shot eyes. She was slightly unsteady on her feet and extremely confused about what was going on, according to the police report.

An officer said he could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on Ehrhardt.

Police said they found an open container of cold beer and five unopened beers inside the vehicle.

Ehrhardt was arrested on several charges, including DUI with great bodily injury and leaving the scene of an injury accident. She was then taken to the Oklahoma County Jail.

Police have not released the victim's identity yet.
