OU head coach Bob Stoops announced Wednesday afternoon that Fresno State transfer wide receiver Jalen Saunders was ruled eligible by the NCAA after appealing the initial decision that ruled him ineligible for this season. Stoops said Saunders could possibly see the field Saturday against Texas.

Saunders was initially ruled ineligible after the Sooners' first game against UTEP. Saunders has been practicing with the team all season, but was moved from scout team today. The Sooners found out during practice the NCAA had reversed its initial decision on Saunders' eligibility.

As a sophomore at Fresno State, Saunders caught 50 passes for 1,065 yards and 12 touchdowns. His 21.3 yards per catch average was among the best in the country last season.
