Great news! Tomorrow will be a REALLY UGLY day! Not the typical response, but because we are so dry, most of us are pretty excited about precipitation chances. This storm will come out in two rounds: The first tomorrow morning and the second Thursday morning.
Rain and a winter mix will move into the state tonight. Winds will also begin increasing, too. The rain/winter mix line is expected to line up from Woodward to Stillwater. North of this line expect everything; from rain to freezing rain to sleet to snow! There may even be some accumulation before the rain sets in later in the day. I highly discourage travel into Kansas. It will get really tough in the Sunflower State as this winter storm unleashes lots of wicked weather!
It will turn out to be a raw, wet and windy Wednesday! The worst conditions will be in the northern part of the state.
The next round moves into Oklahoma as a line of storms impacting much of the state and a winter event in the panhandle area. The storm line could produce severe weather, but I doubt it will be widespread. Wind damage will be the primary threat.
By noon Thursday, the precip will end.
And I think most Oklahoman's will be happy with the amounts they receive! Again, great news!
