A judge sentenced Jimmy Massey to a 20-year suspended sentence, except for the first 10 years. That means Massey will spend 10 years in prison in Oklahoma, and spend 10 years on probation.

Massey pleaded guilty to felony drug charges, including possession with intent to distribute, conspiracy to distribute a controlled and dangerous substance, and trafficking methamphetamine.

Massey's attorney asked if his probation could be served in Texas. The state of Oklahoma did not object, but it will be up to Texas to accept those terms.

Massey and another man, Luis Ruiz, were once suspected of killing Carina Saunders, dismembering her body, and stuffing her remains in duffle bags. The bags were then left behind a Bethany grocery store.

In February, the murder charges were dropped because there was not enough evidence against the two men. Ruiz was released from jail, but Massey remained behind bars to answer the drug charges.

Massey would not comment on any questions related to the Saunders case.
