Jonathan Villar hit a grand slam to center field to cap a wild six-run bottom of the ninth inning Wednesday for the Oklahoma City RedHawks, who went on to beat the Tacoma Rainiers, 7-6, in 10 innings in front of a season-high crowd of 10,186 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The RedHawks (20-12) won a ninth-straight home game by forcing extra innings and scoring the winning run with two outs on a throwing error by Tacoma (21-13) shortstop Nick Franklin in the bottom of the 10th inning.

Oklahoma City trailed, 6-0, entering the bottom of the ninth inning before scoring six runs - all with two outs - to tie the game.

Jason Jaramillo hit a RBI double before Cody Clark hit a bases-loaded RBI single for Oklahoma City's first two runs of the game in the ninth. The grand slam by Villar was the first for the RedHawks this season and forced extra innings in the field trip day game.

In the bottom of the 10th, with runners at second and third with two outs, Andy Simunic sent a ground ball to Franklin. Although Franklin fielded the ball cleanly, his throw to first was off-line, allowing Simunic to reach safely and Laird to score.

Simunic and Marc Krauss led the RedHawks with two hits apiece and Villar posted a game-high four RBI. Nate Tenbrink went 4-for-4 for Tacoma and collected three RBI.

Tacoma grabbed a 4-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning. Scott Savastano hit a RBI single and Tenbrink added a three-run homer with two outs. Denny Almonte added a solo home run in the seventh and he scored in the ninth on a single by Eric Thames for a 6-0 Rainiers lead.

RedHawks starting pitcher Brad Peacock made his season debut for Oklahoma City, allowing four runs on six hits in six innings, striking out five and walking none. Jason Stoffel (1-0) got the win, pitching the final two innings, striking out one and allowing one run on three hits.

Jhonny Nunez (2-2) took the loss for the Rainiers.

The RedHawks' series against Tacoma continues with a 7:05 p.m. game Thursday for another $1 beer night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
