Oklahoma defensive back Aaron Colvin and Oklahoma State defensive tackle Calvin Barnett were named to the Chuck Bednarik Award watch list Monday.
The Bednarik Award goes out to the top defensive player in college football.
Colvin was a bright spot in the Sooners' defensive backfield last year racking up 52 tackles with four interceptions and two sacks.
Barnett recorded 30 tackles (eight tackles-for-loss) and helped anchor the Cowboys' defensive line on his way to becoming the Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year last season.
Baylor linebacker Bryce Hager, Kansas State safety Ty Zimmerman, TCU defensive end Devonte Fields and cornerback Jason Verrett and Texas defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat joined Colvin and Barnett on the 75-player list.
Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o won the award last year.
