OKC Man Accused Of Raping 12-Year-Old Girl

Police have arrested an 18-year-old man suspected of raping a 12-year-old girl during a family gathering in northeast Oklahoma City.

Around 5:30 a.m. on August 18, officers were called to an apartment complex in the 3600 block of N. Lottie Avenue. Police found several angry relatives at the scene, who said Decarlos Latham had sexually assaulted a girl.

Police questioned Latham, but he refused to tell them what happened. They then spoke to the victim, who said she, Latham and some other children were in an upstairs bedroom watching a movie. The victim said when everyone else fell asleep, Latham began kissing and fondling her. She said Latham soon took her into another room, where he raped her.

After Latham left the room, the victim went downstairs to tell her family what happened. Relatives then called police.

Police arrested Latham and booked him into the Oklahoma County jail on one count of first-degree rape.
