A former nursing professor at ITT Technical Institute in Oklahoma City said she was fired last month for helping a student.
Jean Crowder is the former Clinical Director at Integris Home Care. Last fall, she took a nursing professor position at ITT Tech.
She said she was fired, because she co-signed a car loan for a student who had taken a class from her, and because she tried to help get financial aid for the student.
She said her superiors pulled her into an office, accused her "gross misconduct," then fired her two weeks later.
"I felt I was guilty of doing something good," said Crowder. "I don't think I did anything bad."
I left two phone messages with ITT Tech's Oklahoma City Campus Director Tuesday afternoon. I also talked to somebody there who did answer their phone, and told them we were doing this story Tuesday night and wanted their response. They have not responded.
