A man accused of driving on a rim was arrested after an Oklahoma County deputy found marijuana in his pickup truck early Tuesday morning.

According to the Sheriff's office, at about 3:30 a.m., a deputy responded to the report of a drunk driver in the area of N.W. 178th Street and N. MacArthur Boulevard in Edmond. The deputy located a pickup truck and could hear a grinding sound. He also noticed sparks flying from the right rear of the truck.

The deputy then pulled over the vehicle. The driver, 18-year-old Gage Hendrix, could not find his driver's license. The deputy said he noticed marijuana inside the truck and could smell a strong odor of marijuana. Hendrix reportedly had a slurred speech.

Hendrix agreed to perform a field sobriety test, which he failed, according to the Sheriff's office. During a search of the pickup, the deputy said he found loose marijuana and rolled marijuana joints inside.

Hendrix was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on charges of driving under the influence of marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving on a rim.
